Eepy Day for the Eepy Gremlin
September 17th, 2026
Hello, sweetie pies and mini monsters. 💖
’Tis your favorite chaos gremlin, once again writing to you from the luxurious accommodations of a La Quinta hotel room.
I am exhausted.
I have food in my belly.
And yes—
I got the chicken tendies.
Obviously.
BUT.
Your girl was also approximately twelve percent adventurous tonight.
We went somewhere called KuKri, which was something new for me. And honestly?
It was okay!
Not personally my favorite thing in the world, but I can absolutely see the appeal. I’m not really much of a sauce person, and I have a feeling the sauces are where a lot of the flavor magic happens there, so this may be less of a KuKri problem and more of a Babsie Has the Palate of a Suspicious Toddler™ problem.
A tale as old as time.
Still!
I tried something new.
Character development. ✨
Today’s Great Expedition
We only drove for about three and a half hours today.
Which normally doesn’t sound like much.
But with three nervous cats?
That was PLENTY.
I personally experienced approximately one hour of this journey while conscious.
Why?
Because I slept for about two and a half hours of it.
And before anyone congratulates me on finally getting some rest—
No.
This was not responsible self-care.
This was my body filing an emergency shutdown request.
I went to bed around 3 a.m.
Then I was awake from roughly 4 to 5 because the kitty overlords were having Feelings™.
Then I was up again around 9 a.m.
Not voluntarily, obviously.
Because apparently we have entered the portion of the trip where the cats have decided nighttime is the perfect opportunity to emotionally process the fact that their entire world has been placed inside a moving vehicle.
The Kitty Overlords Continue Their Protest
They’ve also apparently decided they no longer believe in eating.
Which is great.
Love that.
Very relaxing behavior when you’re transporting three tiny creatures across multiple states.
So we went out and bought wet food in hopes that a more luxurious offering would satisfy Their Majesties.
They ate some of it, at least.
Which means I can lower my anxiety from:
“OH GOD MY CHILDREN ARE WITHERING AWAY.”
to:
“I am still monitoring you very suspiciously, tiny beast.”
Progress!
They’re still a little wild tonight, but they actually seem more settled than they have the last couple nights.
Maybe they’re finally realizing we have not, in fact, kidnapped them and joined a traveling circus.
Maybe.
Today’s Roadside Wonder: BIG SPINNY THINGS
There honestly weren’t many dramatic developments today.
But!
We saw some really cool wind turbines.
And listen.
I understand they are infrastructure.
I know they have a practical purpose.
But there is something delightful about seeing an entire field of enormous spinny boys standing around in the middle of nowhere.
So yes.
They made the scrapbook.
I make the rules here.
The big wind spinnies!
Our adventurers look on with great care to out energy making machines.
Tomorrow: The Final Boss
Tomorrow is the big one.
We have roughly six or seven hours of driving ahead of us.
And at the end?
✨ COLORADO SPRINGS. ✨
We are almost there.
Which still does not feel like a real sentence.
Tomorrow night, we should finally be in our extended-stay hotel, where we’ll begin the glamorous military-spouse activity known as:
waiting for the Army to figure out where the hell we’re going to live.
Very exciting.
Very mysterious.
Love an unresolved housing quest.
Once we’re settled, though, I can finally start shifting out of Road Trip Survival Mode™ and into something resembling regular life.
Which means…
Saturday?
Grocery shopping.
And, more importantly:
I GET TO SHOW YOU MY CUTE POTS AND PANS.
Priorities.
Fuzzy Creature Noms: Extended-Stay Kitchen Edition is approaching, little monsters.
Whether the tiny hotel kitchen is prepared for me is entirely irrelevant.
For Now…
My allergies are currently attempting to remove my face from my skull.
I am deeply eepy.
The cats are committing low-level goblin crimes around the hotel room.
And I think my only remaining responsibility tonight is to get cozy and cease functioning.
So that is exactly what I’m going to do.
Happy Thursday, little monsters. 💖
Eat something yummy.
Take your meds if you have them.
Drink your water or electrolytes.
Get some sleep.
Tomorrow’s adventure will still be waiting when you wake up.
Stay safe, don’t die, and please inform your cats that 4 a.m. is not an appropriate time for emotional processing.
Xoxo 💖💖💖

P.s. I know this is going up weeks late. But better late than never!
