Tornadoes and Timid Kitties
The kitty overlords have acquired a mobile throne. The weather has responded by choosing violence.
Well, hey, howdy, hi there, friendlies. 💖
You may be looking at the title of this post and wondering what tornadoes could possibly have to do with timid little house cats. The answer is…
✨Absolutely nothing! ✨
Unfortunately, both have decided to become part of today’s adventure anyway, so let your favorite gremlin explain.
Today’s original plan was simple. Peaceful, even. I was going to pop into the Goblin Cave, wave my tiny ceremonial flag, and officially announce that I have joined the Crazy Cat Lady Club. Not because I have three cats. That membership was granted ages ago.
No, today’s promotion came because the cat stroller we ordered finally arrived.
And friendlies? It is magnificent.
It has two removable carriers, multiple little windows for observing the realm, and enough room to transport all three of our feline supervisors without forcing anyone to carry a disgruntled cat through a hotel lobby like a fuzzy, deeply offended football.
Considering we’ll soon be moving from Arizona to Colorado with three cats in tow, I’m hoping this ridiculous little mobile throne will make the journey considerably easier.
Naturally, the kitty overlords inspected it immediately.
They sniffed it.
They climbed inside.
They judged its structural integrity.
Then, because they are chaos monsters, they began arguing over who gets the top bunk.
((The stroller had been assembled for approximately twelve minutes at that point.))
So far, everything is proceeding exactly as expected.
Princess Stubbalina on her thrown.
But What About the Tornado, Babsie?
Yes. Right. That.
Apparently, Arizona looked at the rest of the country’s weather and decided it was feeling left out.
I have lived here for nearly five years, mind you, and tornadoes have never exactly been a regular feature of the desert experience. According to the Pima County Public Library, Arizona averages around three tornadoes each year because the air is usually too dry to “properly fuel” them.
Usually. 🫠
As I’m writing this, we are currently under a tornado warning.
Nothing especially alarming has happened near us yet, and I would very much like it to stay that way.
Thunderstorm, I need you to understand something:
Throwing a tornado at the Goblin Cave is the exact opposite of whimsical.
You already received thunder.
You received lightning.
You made the backyard look like the opening scene of a fantasy movie where the ancient evil has just awakened beneath the mountains.
Said ancient evil
((Within 20 minutes it was pitch black out))
That was plenty.
There is no need for bonus content.
The storm looked absolutely wild earlier, though, and it felt like one of those strange little moments that had to be documented. One minute, I was admiring our new cat chariot. The next, the sky was looming over the house like it had arrived to discuss my car’s extended warranty.
Military move preparation continues to be a completely normal and predictable experience.
The Gremlin’s Cat-Stroller Verdict
Despite the meteorological drama, I’m genuinely pleased with the stroller so far.
It arrived on time, looked like the listing, and was surprisingly easy to assemble. The two carriers can be removed from the frame, and all three kitty overlords have voluntarily climbed inside—which, as any cat servant knows, is about as glowing an endorsement as one can receive. We still need to see how it handles an actual outing, and negotiations concerning the top bunk remain tense.
But for now?
Gremlin approved. Kitty inspected. Stumpy may be planning a hostile takeover.
I found the stroller on Amazon, so I’ll add the link here for anyone else preparing to become the chauffeur of a tiny feline parade.
I’m not affiliated with the company, and nobody paid me to say any of this. I simply love my silly little cat stroller and feel morally obligated to show it to other people.
That is all from the Goblin Cave for now, friendlies.
The cats have a new vehicle, the sky has been formally asked to behave itself, and I am going to go stare suspiciously out the window.
Signing out for now, friendlies!
Stay safe, don’t die, and please avoid any aggressively unwhimsical weather. 💝
Xoxo 💖💖💖
